So if anyone knows me, they know I hate the weekend! Yes I realize this is a VERY weird thing to say.To make a long story short, I have decided to make every weekend into an adventure, to keep me from thinking about the fact that I don’t like them. This past weekend I made a “photo blog” of sorts, it was my Mom’s 64th birthday and I took her to Asheville NC. Welcome to our “Adventure”
This is the view on the way to a cute little church in Mills River NC. We had a great time and were greeted by kind members and made to feel at home. I found my new motto on a bumper sticker “breathe and smile” what else do you need??
Second Stop was lunch!! We went to Rosetta’s Kitchen in Asheville, NC!! This is an all vegetarian restaurant, and they have this great “Everybody Eats” “sliding scale” meal for people that may not be able to afford a full price meal (imagine a world where every restaurant did this). Pay from $2-$6 for a select dish they prepared that day. I have attached pictures of this lovely place.
Now we are on our journey home, bellies full enjoying the lovely fall day and beautiful mountains of North Carolina views. Last stop, a little stand on the side of the road to grab some fresh apples and grapefruit. I am walking around the little shop and saw that they had a few antiques. I fell in love with an antique chest, but I left it there because really I don’t need anymore furniture to take up space. After walking to the front I told the cashier to please bag me up my favorite treat, boiled peanuts!! Ahhhhh the last moments of summer in the south. I saw a cute ladder and it made me think how bad that I have been needing something to hang my scarfs on for the winter (I LOVE scarfs). THIS IS PERFECT, and it is only $20!! My Mom looks at me kinda crazy, but I load it into the car anyway. I am HAPPY!! Wonderful day with Mom and my FIRST weekend adventure. Now let’s see if I can keep it up!! I LOVE WEEKENDS!! 🙂 LOL.
